Pickleball Courts in Washington

Washington has thirty-nine counties. This page covers five cities in three of them.

Forty-nine sites, 194 courts, five municipal operators. King County holds forty of those sites and 144 of the courts: Seattle with twenty-four parks and 92 courts, Bellevue with thirteen venues and 42, and Kirkland with three and 10. Clark County holds three, all inside Vancouver, with 14 courts between them. Spokane County holds the other six, all inside the City of Spokane, with 36 courts, the first courts east of the Cascades in this state.

Everything on this page is run by a city parks department. Not one private club, church gym, school or commercial facility appears. City parks departments are the operators that publish; clubs, gyms, schools and commercial facilities generally do not. Read the coverage as a map of who writes things down, not a map of where the courts are.

Each city's record is different. Seattle publishes a dedicated pickleball dataset through its GIS portal, refreshed weekly, listing court counts, indoor/outdoor, lighting and nets per location. Bellevue publishes one page stating a court count for every pickleball venue it runs, indoor and outdoor, each linked to a park page carrying the address. Vancouver publishes one pickleball page that states a count for three of the four venues on it. Kirkland publishes a table whose column is headed "Number & Type of Courts", so each cell reads "6 pickleball courts" rather than a bare number that might be counting tennis courts.

Spokane publishes three lists on one page: tennis courts, tennis courts striped for pickleball, and dedicated pickleball courts. Each line is a park, a street address and a count. The page cannot be fetched by a script, so it was read in a browser on 7 September 2026 and saved as text.

A city appears here when three or more of its venues carry a source and a date checked; a venue appears when an operator has stated its court count and an address that resolves. More than fifty other Washington cities in the import hold three or more rows, among them Redmond, Bellingham, Kent, Tacoma, Marysville, Auburn, Kennewick and Olympia. Not one of those rows carries a source, so none is published.

Two venues clear everything except that bar and are named on their city pages: Fisher Basin Community Park in Vancouver, for which the City states no court count and prints another park's address, and Sky Prairie Park in Spokane, for which the City states two courts and an address, "8501 N. Nettleton Ct.", that does not resolve at house-number level. Highland Park in Bellevue was in the same position until 4 September 2026, when its four courts became publishable.

Of 194 courts, 24 are indoor, roughly one in eight. All twenty-four are in Bellevue and Vancouver: fourteen across three Bellevue community centres and the Hidden Valley Fieldhouse, and ten in Vancouver's Firstenburg and Marshall community centres. Seattle has no indoor pickleball at all. Its parks dataset marks every one of its ninety-two courts outdoor. Indoor courts exist in Seattle inside community centres and private clubs, and several appear in the imported rows, but none has been checked against a named source. Spokane never writes "indoor" or "outdoor" against any of its thirty-six courts, so none of them is counted on either side.

Lighting is well recorded because Seattle's dataset has a field for it. Five Seattle venues are lit: Bitter Lake Playfield, Rainier Beach Playfield, Miller Playfield, Alki Playground and Mt. Baker Park. Nineteen more are stated unlit. Vancouver's Oakbrook Community Park is stated unlit too: "The courts do not have lighting." Bellevue states nothing about lighting anywhere, so all thirteen of its venues read "not stated". Kirkland states nothing about lighting either, but all ten of its courts close at dusk. Spokane states nothing about lighting or hours at any of its six parks.

Put together: of forty-nine venues, five are known lit, twenty are known unlit and twenty-four are unknown. So the practical shape of a Washington winter, on what has a source: five lit outdoor venues, all in Seattle, and twenty-four indoor courts, none of them in it.

Every indoor venue runs drop-in sessions on a published schedule, and not one of the six takes a booking. South Bellevue Community Center states it flatly: "All Drop-In Sports times are strictly drop-in only", with reservations, saved spots and signing in for another player all specifically disallowed. It asks you to check in at the front desk first. Crossroads Community Center says "No registration required: first-come, first-served. Space is limited." Vancouver's Firstenburg and Marshall centres run scheduled play for ages 12 and up. A gym is a pickleball venue only during the hours it is one, so the schedule matters more than the court count.

Two further caveats belong to winter. North Bellevue Community Center is counted by the City as "2 courts (with low ceiling)". Vancouver's Firstenburg is the only indoor venue whose floor is on the record, a wood gymnasium floor. Everywhere else you are turning up to a surface nobody has described.

The biggest site we list in Washington is in Spokane. Mission Park holds sixteen pickleball courts, striped on the park's eight tennis courts and shared with tennis. The City states nothing else about it: no hours, no lighting, no surface, no price. Comstock Park, also in Spokane, is second at twelve courts on six. Four Seattle sites hold eight courts each: Bitter Lake Playfield, Green Lake Park's east courts, Rainier Beach Playfield and West Magnolia Playfield. Two are lit and two are stated unlit.

The largest indoor rooms are a tie at six courts: South Bellevue Community Center and Vancouver's Firstenburg Community Center. South Bellevue is the only venue in the state that publishes a price: $4 for Bellevue residents, $5 for everyone else, per adult drop-in session, with family sessions free for an adult and a child under 18 from the same household. It is also the only one that says who supplies the equipment: "We provide pickleball balls, nets, and poles". Firstenburg is the only venue in Washington with a stated playing surface, because Vancouver wrote down that its six courts are "on a wood gymnasium floor". At the other forty-eight venues, surface is not stated.

Washington has five dedicated pickleball sites on the record, meaning no tennis lines and no portable net. Peter Kirk Park in Kirkland has six, converted from tennis courts in 2026. Eastgate Park in Bellevue has four, permanently so since 1 September 2026. Oakbrook Community Park in Vancouver has four, open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily with nets and poles permanently installed. Corbin Park and Underhill Park in Spokane have two each, on the City's "Dedicated Pickleball Courts" list, with nothing stated about hours, nets or lights. Everything else we list in Washington is a shared court: tennis lines at most venues, including thirty-two of Spokane's thirty-six courts, a basketball court at Bellevue's Lewis Creek Park, and a tennis net you play over at two more.

A few venues are notable for what they answer. Hidden Valley Park in Bellevue is one of only thirteen venues anywhere in this directory with a court count above zero on both sides of the indoor/outdoor line, and was the first: three courts in its fieldhouse and two in the park outside, at one address, listed by the City as two separate entries and published here as one place. Hillaire Park is the only venue in the state whose operator splits its own count by type, "3 courts (1 dedicated, 2 portable nets)". Cherry Crest Mini Park has a single court over a tennis net, so "has pickleball" and "has a court free for you" are not the same sentence there.

The most useful sentence published by any Washington operator is Bellevue's: "Bellevue's pickleball courts are shared use with tennis courts, unless otherwise noted." It tells you what every unmarked entry on the City's list means.

Kirkland did the larger one. The City closed the six tennis courts at Peter Kirk Park on 13 April 2026 "for conversion to six dedicated pickleball courts", and reopened them as pickleball courts on 2 July 2026 at 3 p.m. Six tennis courts in, six dedicated pickleball courts out, at the park next to the city's downtown.

On 28 August 2026 Bellevue Parks & Community Services announced that, "responding to increasing community demand", it would convert the two dual-use outdoor sport courts at Eastgate Park into "a dedicated pickleball-only facility". From 1 September the tennis nets came off and the four pickleball courts marked on those courts became permanent, with a resurfacing to pickleball lines only planned to follow. The City cited "multiple recreation planning assessments and high interest in the sport expressed through community feedback", and named four nearby parks, Silver Leaf, Lakemont, Spiritridge and Sunset, where displaced tennis players could go.

The same notice bounds the story: the department "does not currently have conversions planned at any other dual-use courts in Bellevue". One park converted, none scheduled to follow, in a city with forty-two courts.

Most of what we list in this state is still a shared court rather than a built one. Only five venues in Washington are dedicated pickleball on the record: Peter Kirk Park, Eastgate Park, Oakbrook Community Park, and Corbin Park and Underhill Park in Spokane. That is what growth looks like almost everywhere before it looks like construction: lines painted on tennis courts, portable nets, and a dedicated facility every so often. Whether five cities are representative of the state is not something this page can say.

Spokane's lists give the state's clearest arithmetic on shared courts. The City's tennis list and its striped list together show two pickleball courts to a tennis court at Mission, Comstock and Peaceful Valley, and one to one at A.M. Cannon, so a reader knows how many slabs the count stands on.

Seattle's dataset is refreshed weekly and was last edited on 31 August 2026. Bellevue's, Vancouver's and Spokane's are web pages that change without notice, so all three are snapshotted and re-checked.
