Best if you want a court that is only a pickleball court

Eastgate Park, and only Eastgate Park. Four courts, marked "(dedicated)" on the City's list against a city-wide default of shared use with tennis, and permanently so since 1 September 2026, when the tennis nets came off. Everywhere else in Bellevue you are playing on someone else's court with lines added, except one court at Hillaire Park, which is dedicated while its two neighbours are portable nets on tennis courts. One caveat the City leaves open: it does not say whether nets are provided at Eastgate now that the tennis nets have gone, so bring one until somebody tells us otherwise.

Best if the weather has closed the outdoor courts

South Bellevue Community Center has six indoor courts, the largest single count in the city, and it is the only venue in Bellevue that publishes what it costs: $4 for Bellevue residents, $5 for everyone else, per adult drop-in session. It is also the only one that says who supplies the equipment ("We provide pickleball balls, nets, and poles"), so a paddle is genuinely all you need. Check in at the front desk first; the sessions are strictly drop-in and nothing can be reserved.

Best if you want indoor and outdoor at one address

Hidden Valley Park is one of only thirteen venues in this entire directory carrying a non-zero count on both sides, and was the first: three indoor courts in the Hidden Valley Fieldhouse and two outdoor courts in the park around it, at 1903 112th Ave NE. The City lists them as two separate entries, one under Indoor and one under Outdoor, and links both names to the same park page, which is why they are published here as one place rather than two.

Best if you want to turn up on a whim indoors

Crossroads Community Center runs three indoor courts on a drop-in schedule with the plainest rule in the city: "No registration required: first-come, first-served. Space is limited." What it does not publish is a price for pickleball: the City points at a registration site and at drop-in schedule PDFs dated 2023 and 2024, so ring ahead if the cost matters to your plans. The centre sits inside Crossroads Park, which has four outdoor courts of its own on shared tennis courts, at a different address a mile and a half east.

Parking

Not published for any of the thirteen venues. Five park pages (Crossroads, Hidden Valley, Lakemont, Lewis Creek and Highland) list Parking among their amenities, which says a lot exists and nothing about its size or when it fills. Cherry Crest Mini Park, Norwood Village and Spiritridge are residential street parks with no published guidance.

When to turn up

Bellevue publishes no demand figures, but it does publish the rules that apply when a court is busy. At Crossroads Community Center, drop-in play is "No registration required: first-come, first-served. Space is limited." At South Bellevue, "All Drop-In Sports times are strictly drop-in only", and you check in at the front desk. Eastgate's courts "will remain first-come, first-serve and will be open during posted park hours". No pickleball court in Bellevue can be booked in advance.

What you will actually find

No surface is stated for any court in the city. The City says what each court is shared with ("over tennis net", "basketball court overlay", "portable nets", "dedicated") but not what it is made of. Its default is "Bellevue's pickleball courts are shared use with tennis courts, unless otherwise noted." The exceptions are Eastgate Park's four dedicated courts, one dedicated court at Hillaire Park, and Lewis Creek Park's two on the basketball court.

Getting into a game

On 28 August 2026 the City announced that from 1 September the tennis nets would come off the two dual-use sport courts at Eastgate Park, making the four pickleball courts marked on them permanent. It was "Responding to increasing community demand", and it pointed tennis players to Silver Leaf, Lakemont, Spiritridge and Sunset, all within about three miles. The City also said it "does not currently have conversions planned at any other dual-use courts in Bellevue". So the rest of the city stays as it is: shared courts, portable nets, and four indoor drop-in programmes at three community centres and a fieldhouse.

How many pickleball courts does Bellevue have?

42 across thirteen City of Bellevue venues: 28 outdoor and 14 indoor. The indoor courts are six at South Bellevue Community Center, three at Crossroads Community Center, three in the Hidden Valley Fieldhouse and two at North Bellevue Community Center, listed as "2 courts (with low ceiling)".

Is it free to play?

Not stated, except at one venue. South Bellevue Community Center charges $4 for Bellevue residents and $5 for non-residents per adult drop-in session; its family sessions are free but need an adult and a child under 18 from the same household on court together. Everywhere else, the City does not say.

Do I need to bring a net?

Probably. Seven venues are marked "portable nets", which says the nets are portable, not who carries them. Two are marked "over tennis net", so you play over the net already strung. Only South Bellevue Community Center states it: "We provide pickleball balls, nets, and poles."

Why did Highland Park take so long to appear?

Its address, 14224 Bel-Red Road, returns no match from the Census geocoder on four spellings. On 4 September 2026 this site added a second resolver, OpenStreetMap, consulted only where the Census has no record and accepted only when it returns the house number asked for; it resolves this address, and the venue publishes. Two caveats stay on the venue's page: its own park page never mentions pickleball, and the City uses two names for it.
