Only pickleball courts, and the six pictures of the game on the how-to-play guide, are published now. Photographs of cities, states and counties were removed from the site on 2026-09-09: a skyline, a courthouse or a mountain range is a true picture of the place and the wrong picture for a directory of places to play. The files were deleted from the repository on 2026-09-16, and nothing on the site links to them, so nothing here needs to credit them.

Court photographs

These appear on venue pages and venue cards, and every one is marked “No photo yet”. None of them is a photograph of the venue it appears on. Nobody has photographed the courts in this directory, and until somebody does, an image that implied otherwise would be a claim no source supports.

A few of the same photographs also illustrate About and How we verify. There they stand for no venue at all, so they carry a description of what is in the frame and the photographer’s credit, and no marker.

Guide photographs

These appear beside the text on How to play pickleball, one for each section, each showing the thing that section describes. None of them is a court in this directory and none of them claims to be, so they carry no marker; two are United States government photographs and are in the public domain.

Venue photographs

These 2015 photographs are not independently licensed. They were collected from a venue’s own website, a city’s page for it, or another pickleball directory, and no licence was obtained from whoever holds the copyright. They are published because they show the actual venue, which we judged worth the risk of using someone else’s photograph without asking first — unlike the court photographs above, which are licensed and stand in for a venue we have never photographed. If you hold the rights to one of these and want it removed, tell us and it comes down; we do not need a reason.
