Pickleball Courts in Kirkland, WA

This is the best-documented parking of any city on this site, and it is documented because Kirkland chose to write it down rather than because anything here was worked out. Everest Park states it outright: "There are two parking lots at Everest with space for up to 100 vehicles." Peter Kirk Park sits against downtown, and the City directs you to "the Municipal Parking Garage or along Central Way" rather than to a lot of its own. Feriton Spur Park lists a parking lot among its amenities without sizing it.

None of the three pages states whether parking costs money or when it fills. Peter Kirk Park is next door to the Kirkland Transit Center, so it is the one venue here reachable without a car on the City's own account.

Every pickleball court in Kirkland closes at dusk. All three parks run 8 a.m. to dusk, every day.

The City publishes no crowd estimates. What it publishes is the rule it enforces when courts fill. At Everest Park and on three of Peter Kirk's six courts, the posted rule is one game to 11 points and then rotate off if players are waiting. On the other three Peter Kirk courts, the rule is a 30-minute limit and then rotate. No Kirkland page names a busy morning, a league night or a weekend rush.

Kirkland states no surface for any of its courts. What it does state is age. Peter Kirk Park's six courts were tennis courts until 13 April 2026, when the City closed them "for conversion to six dedicated pickleball courts", and they opened on 2 July 2026 at 3 p.m. Whatever surface they carry, it was laid this year. Feriton Spur Park's single court came out of a 2021-2022 renovation in which Google and SRM Development expanded the park. Everest Park's three courts carry no date at all, though the City did replace that park's restroom in 2026.

The one place Kirkland describes a playing surface rather than dating it is a court this site does not publish: Van Aalst Park has "half-basketball court with lines drawn for pickleball", which tells you exactly what you would be playing on and never says how many courts that amounts to.

Ten courts across three parks. Kirkland's rule is that its pickleball courts are for drop-in play and nothing else: "All City of Kirkland pickleball courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis", and "The use of pickleball courts for business purposes is not allowed, including lessons, leagues, or tournaments." The City runs its own classes and leagues through kirklandparks.net, off these courts.

Six tennis courts at Peter Kirk Park became six dedicated pickleball courts this summer, a conversion the City documented step by step on the park's own page, and it is the only such conversion recorded anywhere on this site.
