Lighted Pickleball Courts in Austin, TX
11 venues in Austin, TX with lit courts for evening play. Every one has been checked against a named source, and the count above is drawn only from those, never from the imported records we have not confirmed.
Why this matters here
Austin is the first city in this directory where a lighting page could be built from what an operator wrote in prose. Eleven of its twenty-one venues carry the words "Lighted during park hours" on the City's pickleball page: more than half the city's venues, and 41 of its 60 courts. In central Texas that is not a detail. From June to September the sensible time to be on a court is after sunset, and this list is the difference between a plan and a guess. The City marks the lit venues individually rather than making a blanket statement about its parks, so each entry stands on its own.
What puts a venue on this list
A venue appears here when its own entry on the City's pickleball page contains "Lighted during park hours". Eleven do. The other ten carry no lighting statement at all, and they are absent from this page because nobody has said either way, not because the City has said they are unlit. Note also what the statement does not say: "during park hours" ties the lights to the park's schedule rather than promising a fixed cut-off, and Austin publishes the hours separately per venue, so read the two together. Austin is the first operator to state it venue by venue in prose at this scale, which is why this is the first /lights/ page in the directory built from sentences rather than from a database field.

What is deliberately not on this list
A venue whose lighting we have not checked is not on this list. Unknown is not the same as unlit, and it is certainly not the same as lit.
Questions about this list
How late can I actually play?
It depends on the venue, because the lighting is tied to park hours and Austin publishes those per venue. Most of the lit venues run to 10 p.m. seven days a week. South Austin Neighborhood Park runs 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; the Austin Tennis and Pickleball Center closes at 10 p.m. on weekdays and 9 p.m. at weekends; Pan American runs to 10 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday but only to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, when roller derby takes the courts.
Are the unlisted venues unlit?
Unknown. Ten Austin venues carry no lighting statement on the City's page. That reads as "not stated" rather than "No", because a silence is not a denial.
Which lit venue has the most courts?
The Austin Tennis and Pickleball Center at Walnut Creek Sports Park, with eight, though it is also the one venue in the city requiring a reservation. Dick Nichols District Park has five and is open play, which makes it the largest lit venue you can simply turn up to.
How many courts does that cover?
Forty-one of Austin's sixty courts, including the eight at the Austin Tennis and Pickleball Center, the five at Dick Nichols and the four each at Little Zilker, Pan American and Rosewood. The ten venues with no lighting statement hold the other nineteen courts between them.
Wider area
This list exists because at least three verified Austin venues match it; below three we would not publish the page at all rather than ship a list of one. See every venue in Austin, or how we verify for the source ladder behind each entry.
