Eight outdoor pickleball courts at Walnut Creek Sports Park in north-east Austin, the largest count in the city by a wide margin, and the only venue in Austin that must be booked. The City marks it "Reservations Required" where every other entry on its pickleball list says Open Play. The courts are lit during park hours, and the facility keeps its own hours rather than the standard park schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Nothing else in the city comes close: Dick Nichols has five and four venues have four. It is the only Austin venue requiring a reservation and, across the ninety-five venues published on this site before Austin, only two others took bookings at all, both of them indoor. This is the closest thing Austin has to a purpose-built pickleball facility.
7800 Johnny Morris Rd., Austin, Texas 78724, matched by the Census geocoder to Austin city, Travis County, in the north-east corner of the city inside Walnut Creek Sports Park. It is the furthest of Austin's venues from the central cluster around Chicon and Rosewood, so this is a drive from most of the city. No parking guidance is published.
Book first. The City does not publish the booking route or the price on its pickleball page, so call ahead. What you get is the best-equipped pickleball facility in the city: eight courts, floodlit, open until 10 p.m. on weekdays. Surface is not stated, nets are not mentioned either way, and no cost appears anywhere on the page.

Eight outdoor pickleball courts, "8 Outdoor Pickleball Courts" in the City's words. The next largest Austin venue is Dick Nichols District Park with five.
The City says so: this is the only entry on its pickleball list marked "Reservations Required" rather than Open Play. Across this whole directory only a handful of other venues take bookings, in other cities.
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Not stated. The City publishes no price on this page.
You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.
It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.
If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
