About this place

Two indoor pickleball courts, "There are 2 indoor pickleball courts.", the only indoor count the City of San Antonio states, on a 1.72-acre park on the south-west side.

Palm Heights "takes its name from a subdivision laid out in 1910". The streets and park passed to the City in September 1928, and the park, bisected by Marian Street, was informally called "Twin Parks" until the street was closed in 1952. A community centre was built in 1931 and extended in 1956 to plans by architect Robert H. Hugman. "The building was rehabilitated in 1977 and a gymnasium was added." The City's count sentence does not name the building the courts are in, so this page does not either.

Getting there

1201 W Malone, San Antonio, TX 78225, Bexar County. The US Census address geocoder matched "1201 W MALONE" at house-number level in the incorporated place San Antonio city; the park page writes "1201 W. Malone Ave."

This is the one published San Antonio venue whose amenity list names no parking, neither "Regular Parking Spaces" nor "Handicapped Parking Spaces", and no restroom or portable toilet. The City does not say there is none; it lists neither, and this site records both as unknown.

What to expect

Two courts is a game rather than a rotation, and these are the only two in the City's record that are indoors. The directory's rule is that courts other than Hamilton's are "available during park hours", 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, and no separate gym schedule for pickleball is published. This page prints the park hours and says that is all the City states.

No price and no surface are stated. The only surface word on the page is in the history, "cold rolled asphalt tennis courts" contracted in 1929, and it is about tennis, ninety-seven years ago.

Two indoor pickleball courts, the only indoor pickleball the City of San Antonio counts, in the gymnasium at Palm Heights Park on the south-west side. The City's page reads "There are 2 indoor pickleball courts." and its history of the 1.72-acre park records the gymnasium being added in 1977. Indoor courts in a City gym are governed by the building rather than the sky; the City's directory gives park hours of 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and states no separate gym schedule for pickleball, so this page prints the park hours and says so. First come, first served. Price and surface are not stated.

Thanks. Your review is in the queue: a person reads every one before it appears here, so it will not show up straight away.

That review did not go through. It needs a star rating, a name and at least twenty characters of text.

Questions about Palm Heights Park

Is it free?

Not stated. First come, first served is the City's play format, and no price is published either way.

Which building are the courts in?

The City does not say. Its history records a gymnasium added to the community centre in 1977, but the count sentence names no building, so this page does not either.

Do you run Palm Heights Park?

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
