Pleasant Park, on weight of courts: six of them, the most in Apex, at the town's newest park. It is also the only Apex venue that publishes live court occupancy, so you can check whether they are busy before setting off. The catch is the light: this is the one unlit pickleball site in town, and its court hours are sunrise to thirty minutes after sunset, so it is useless to you after work in winter.

Kelly Road Park, Apex Community Park or the Seymour Athletic Fields: all three are lit and all three run to 10 p.m. year round. Kelly Road's four and Seymour's four are shared with junior tennis; Apex Community Park's three are described as pickleball courts in their own right, so it is the smallest of the three but the least shared. None of them can be booked, by town policy.

The John M. Brown Community Center has the first indoor pickleball courts on record anywhere in this directory: four of them, on the Town Hall campus at 53 Hunter Street. Read the restriction before you go: they are available only for ages 55 and over, and only during designated open gym hours, for which the town publishes a separate calendar.

Parking

Apex publishes little about parking. Apex Nature Park is the clearest: the town states there are parking lots at both entrances and a paved walkway connecting the two sides of the park. The pickleball is on the Seymour Athletic Fields side, at 2500 Evans Road. Apex Community Park has two published entrances, the park entrance at 2200 Laura Duncan Road and a Lake Trail entrance at 1808 Lake Pine Drive. When to turn up

The biggest pickleball site in Apex closes earliest. Pleasant Park has six courts, more than anywhere else in town, and it is the only one of the five with no lights. Getting into a game
