About this place

Five indoor courts across two gyms: Blue Gym has two and Green Gym three, each 20ft by 44ft. They were the first pickleball courts in this entire directory that could be reserved in advance. The centre stands inside Warner Park on Madison's north side and was expanded to include, in the City's words, "two gymnasiums, a fully equipped fitness center, pickleball courts, flexible studio space, atrium and dry and wet craft rooms". It is published separately from Warner Park's three outdoor courts because the City runs it as a separate facility with its own rules, its own cost and its own booking system.

Getting there

2930 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI 53704, the same address as Warner Park, matched by the Census geocoder to Madison city, Dane County. If you are meeting someone here, be specific about which you mean: the outdoor courts and the recreation center share a street number and nothing else. The City publishes no parking guidance for either.

What to expect

Book first. The City runs reservations through its WebTrac account system and asks that you confirm household members on the account before booking. To play you need an active WPCRC ID card and either a Fitness Center/Pickleball membership or a Daily Admission. Annual and six-month memberships and 20-visit passes are available, and all of them include the fitness centre as well as the courts. Wear non-marking rubber-soled shoes; the City asks for them explicitly to protect the gym floors. Neither the membership nor the daily admission price appears on the page we read, so confirm the cost before travelling.

Thanks. Your review is in the queue: a person reads every one before it appears here, so it will not show up straight away.

That review did not go through. It needs a star rating, a name and at least twenty characters of text.

Questions about Warner Park Community Recreation Center

Can I really book a court?

Yes, and this was the first venue on this entire site where that was true; a handful of others have followed. Reservations run through the City's WebTrac account system; every other court in the directory, across nine cities, is first come, first served.

What is the floor made of?

Not stated. The City states the court dimensions and the shoe requirement but never names the surface, so this venue reads "not stated" where the twenty outdoor ones state asphalt or tile.

Can children play?

Youth aged 12 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 12 are not allowed in the fitness centre at any time, per the City's rules for the facility.

Do you run Warner Park Community Recreation Center?

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
