Four courts on asphalt, the largest shared-court count in Madison, on a 25.81-acre park stretching along Monona Bay just west of downtown. The City's page lists the Jenni and Kyle Foundation Accessible Playground, a reservable shelter, multipurpose fields, a nature nook, a beach house with Madison Boats running watercraft rentals, an off-leash dog park and a sand volleyball court. After three larger pickleball sites in the city fell out of this directory on address checks, Brittingham's four courts are the second-largest count published in Madison, behind Garner's six.

Getting there

388 S. Bassett St., Madison, WI 53703, and that address is worth reading carefully, because it is not the park's. The City lists Brittingham's main entrance at 829 W. Washington Ave. and prints the courts separately at S. Bassett St., a different street on a park that runs along a bay. If you navigate to the park's headline address you will be at the playground and shelters, not the courts.

What to expect

Four tennis courts striped for pickleball, played over a tennis net about two inches higher than a pickleball net, first come first served for individuals. The park page carries a note the City has left standing since the courts reopened: "Update November 5, 2025: Fencing work is nearly complete and courts are open again!" Lighting is not stated. Four courts is enough for a group of eight to rotate, which is not true of most Madison venues. The courts sit on the Bassett Street side, so the beach, the boats and the dog park are a walk away rather than beside you.
