About this place

Pier Park has four pickleball courts, and it is the one outdoor site in Portland where the city names the material: "concrete". Everywhere else the department writes "hard courts", which sorts a court into a category without naming a material, so those venues carry no surface. Pier Park is also one of the four parks Portland names as sanctioned pickleball sites, under its rule that striping goes only where courts stand roughly 300 to 600 feet from homes.

Getting there

10325 N Lombard St, Portland, OR 97203, the same street as Columbia Park and a shade under three miles further north-west along it, out towards St. Johns. The Census geocoder matched the address to Multnomah County. As at every other venue on this site, the parks department publishes nothing at all about parking here, so we have nothing on record to tell you about it.

What to expect

Four free courts on concrete, with permanent lines, open dawn to dusk on a first-come basis, and bring your own net. Four courts is a small site by the standards of Columbia and Sellwood, so the department's one-hour courtesy limit is more likely to matter on a busy afternoon. The amenities line lists restrooms and, unlike the other outdoor parks, does not mention drinking water. That is an absence in the city's list rather than a statement that there is none. Lighting is not mentioned.

Thanks. Your review is in the queue: a person reads every one before it appears here, so it will not show up straight away.

That review did not go through. It needs a star rating, a name and at least twenty characters of text.

Questions about Pier Park

What surface are Pier Park's courts?

Concrete. Portland Parks & Recreation writes "4 Outdoor concrete courts", and that is a material rather than a category, so it is published. It makes Pier Park one of only three Portland venues in this directory with a stated surface, and the other two are the wood floors at Southwest and St. Johns community centres.

Is there drinking water?

The city does not say. Its amenities line for Pier Park reads "Amenities: restrooms", where the other outdoor parks say "restrooms and water". Restrooms are recorded and water is left unstated rather than reading a silence as a no.

How far is it from Columbia Park?

About 2.9 miles along North Lombard Street, which the two share. St. Johns Community Center and its two indoor courts sit between them, a little under a mile from Pier. That makes this stretch of North Portland the densest pickleball corridor in the city: twelve free outdoor courts and an indoor room inside three miles of one road.

Do you run Pier Park?

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
