Gabriel Park is the best-equipped free pickleball site in Portland on the evidence the city publishes: six courts, described as 'pickleball only', with permanent lines and nets included, at no cost. It is the only venue in the city that is both a named sanctioned pickleball park and a dedicated, nets-included site. Columbia, Pier and Sellwood are sanctioned but you bring your own net; Laurelhurst and Hillside are dedicated but smaller.
4508 SW Nevada St, Portland, OR 97219, in the south-west sextant, one of three venues in this set on the west side of the river, with Hillside Park and Southwest Community Center. The Census geocoder matched the address to Multnomah County. Southwest Community Center, the city's largest indoor site, is about 250 metres away, one of the closest pairings of an outdoor and an indoor pickleball venue anywhere in this directory. No parking information is published by the parks department, and Gabriel is a large multi-use park.
Six free courts with nets already provided, dawn to dusk, first come first served. Six is enough that the one-hour courtesy limit is less likely to bite than at Laurelhurst or Hillside, and the dedicated striping means you are not negotiating with tennis players for the space. Restrooms and drinking water are listed. Lighting is not stated, here or at any Portland venue.

Portland Parks & Recreation names four parks (Columbia, Pier, Sellwood and Gabriel) as the places it has sanctioned pickleball, under a policy of striping only where courts are roughly 300 to 600 feet from housing so that noise carries less.
Southwest Community Center, about 250 metres away, with five indoor courts on a wood floor at $6 for adults and $5 for seniors. One address for a dry morning, another for the rest of the year.
Unknown. Portland publishes no information about how busy any of its pickleball sites get. Six courts is the second-largest year-round site in the city, nets are already up, and the city's rules ask players to limit a session to an hour when others are waiting and forbid holding a court for a partner who has not arrived.
You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.
It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.
If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
