About this place

North Hills Park has six permanent pickleball courts in north Raleigh. With Method Community Park it is one of two locations the city marks "Drop in only, no reservations", so the courts cannot be booked out ahead of you. The city's pickleball page and its GIS court inventory agree on the count, and so does the commercial dataset this directory started from, which is a rarer alignment than it ought to be. The park page has a pickleball section of its own, gives pickleball@raleighnc.gov for questions, and states that court reservations are not offered during open play. The courts are lit, but Raleigh Parks began a lighting upgrade on 24 August 2026 and closed the courts. Daytime play reopened on Wednesday 2 September, with 8 September targeted for completion and night play unavailable until the work finishes.

Getting there

100 Chowan Circle, postcode 27609, in the North Hills area north of the Beltline. No parking guidance is published for the courts. A restroom is recorded at this park in the city's amenities inventory. Do not confuse this park with the private North Hills Club nearby, which is a different venue and is not stated here.

What to expect

Six permanent courts, drop-in only, and once the upgrade has finished, lights on a timer to 10 p.m. The department's sign-up rules apply: sign in or place a paddle, games to 11 and win by 2, and all four players come off at the end of each game so the next four can go on. The rotation is the queueing system, so a group of four cannot hold a court indefinitely. Not published: the surface material, whether nets are provided outdoors, or any fee. Before an evening trip, check the park's status page; the lighting work was still listed as incomplete on 3 September 2026.

Questions about North Hills Park

Are North Hills Park's pickleball courts open?

Daytime play reopened on 2 September 2026 after a lighting upgrade that began on 24 August. Night play was still closed on 3 September, with Raleigh Parks targeting 8 September for completion. Check the park's page before an evening visit.

No. Raleigh Parks marks the location "Drop in only, no reservations", and the park's own page states that court reservations are not offered during open play.

Do you run North Hills Park?

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
