About this place

Baileywick Park is the only place in this directory's Raleigh set where you can play pickleball under a roof, and the only one where the city's two inventories disagree about how much pickleball there is. The park's page lists three hard courts (Court A covered, Court B covered centre, Court C uncovered), and the weekly schedule puts pickleball on Courts A and B. Raleigh Parks' pickleball page says six pickleball courts; the GIS Athletic Courts layer, with polygons for A and B and none for C, adds up to four. Six is published here because it reconciles with the citywide total of 44, and the venue is flagged for a re-check. The courts are lit and shared with basketball open play, a youth basketball league and futsal.

Getting there

Baileywick is in the far north of the city at 9501 Baileywick Road, and its page names a parking lot at that address. A paved walking trail runs from the Baileywick Road entrance, loops behind the playground and comes out at the parking lot. There is a restroom facility on site. The .6-mile Baileywick Greenway Trail connects Strickland Road to Baileywick Road through the park.

What to expect

Pickleball has Courts A and B on Monday to Friday from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Outside those windows the courts belong to basketball or futsal. Walk-up play is first-come, first-served, but walk-up use is not allowed on courts scheduled for a league or programmed activity, and the scheduled activity has priority. On 24 August 2026 the department posted that Baileywick Park Pavilion-Court A is closed for repairs, with no reopening date given. Nothing published says whether nets are provided, and nothing published gives a surface.

Questions about Baileywick Park

Are the pickleball courts at Baileywick Park covered?

Partly. The park page lists Court A as covered and Court B as covered centre, and pickleball is scheduled on Courts A and B. They still count as outdoor courts, because a roof is not the same as being indoors. Court C, which pickleball does not normally use, is uncovered.

Is Baileywick Park open right now?

Court A was closed for repairs as of 24 August 2026 with no reopening date published. Pickleball here runs on Courts A and B, so that is half the pickleball surface. Check the park's page before travelling.

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
