Welsh Park holds six courts, the largest set in Rockville: "2 Dedicated Pickleball Courts" and "4 Pickleball Courts (pickleball lines on 2 tennis courts; bring your own net)", Lighted Yes, so play runs to 10 p.m. The park page adds a 33.3-acre sports park next to the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, with plenty of parking. Bring a net for the four lined courts.
Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park has "4 Dedicated Pickleball Courts", lit, closing at 10 p.m., in a 26.29-acre park at the north end of King Farm with plenty of parking. It is also where the City holds social play, 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, rotating players so everyone gets a game. The City says nothing about nets here, and nothing about price.
Isreal Park (the City's spelling) has "2 Dedicated Pickleball Courts" and two more lined on a tennis court, four in all, Lighted No, so it closes at dusk. It adjoins the Lincoln Park Community Center, one of three centres the City names for drop-in gym pickleball, and its pavilion has two accessible restrooms and four accessible parking spaces. Bring a net for the lined pair.
Rockville answers the parking question park by park, and one answer is a no. Calvin Park's page states it outright: "Calvin Park does not have parking. Access to park amenities is available via pathways connecting to city sidewalks and roads." Its two courts are reached on foot, or by the bike path along Baltimore Road.
Five parks are described as having "plenty of parking": Broome Athletic Park, Dogwood Park, Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park, Potomac Woods Park (the lot is at 2276 Dunster Lane off Stratton Drive) and Welsh Park. Hillcrest Park has spaces at the east entrance on Crawford Drive and street parking at the west. North Farm Park and Rockcrest Park say nothing either way. At Calvin, Dogwood, Hillcrest, North Farm and Potomac Woods, "restrooms are available only with a permit".

The City sets one clock for every outdoor court: "Courts are open from dawn to dusk and are available on a first-come, first-served basis." Lights extend it. "Lighted courts close at 10 p.m.", and the Lighted column reads Yes at Broome Athletic Park, Dogwood Park, Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park and Welsh Park, nineteen courts between them. The other eight venues are marked No, so twenty-seven courts end at dusk.
A first-come player can still be turned away: "City recreation programs have priority over the use of the courts, so some may be reserved for class use and closed to the public." One session time is published: "Social play is held at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays", with players rotated so everyone gets on court.

The word surface appears nowhere on the City's pickleball page or on any of the twelve park pages, so what these courts are made of is not published here. What the City does state is the kind of court. Twelve of the forty-six are "Dedicated Pickleball Courts": four at Broome Athletic Park, four at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park, two at Isreal Park and two at Welsh Park. Thirty-one are "pickleball lines on" tennis courts at nine venues, two games to a tennis court everywhere except Dogwood's single court. Rockcrest Park's three carry neither phrase.
Nine venues say "bring your own net". Broome and Stepanek, the two dedicated-only rows, say nothing about nets. Potomac Woods Park and Rockville Civic Center Park have a rally wall beside the lined courts.

Forty-six courts sit at twelve City parks, every one outdoor and every one with a lighting answer: four venues lit, eight stated unlit, none unknown.
Two rows of the City's table are not published. Twinbrook Park, four lit courts, is placed at "12920 Twinbrook Parkway", a house number neither the Census address file nor OpenStreetMap has any record of. Glenora Park's Address block reads "Dundee Road and Wootton Parkway", an intersection with no house number. The City also names three community centres for "open gym schedules during drop-in hours featuring pickleball", with no court count. Rockville is the first city in Maryland and the first in Montgomery County on this site.

Anything an operator does not publish shows as “Not stated” rather than being guessed at, most often surface, fees and opening hours. Many of these courts are very probably free to play, but a belief is not a source, so we do not print it as one.
Forty-six, across twelve City parks: six at Welsh, five at Dogwood, four each at Broome, Fallsgrove, Isreal, Mattie J.T. Stepanek, North Farm, Potomac Woods and Rockville Civic Center Park, three at Rockcrest, and two each at Calvin and Hillcrest.
Broome Athletic Park, Dogwood Park, Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park and Welsh Park, nineteen courts, and the City adds that "Lighted courts close at 10 p.m." The other eight venues are marked No in the Lighted column, a stated answer rather than a gap, so their courts end at dusk.
Not stated, at any venue. The City prints no price on its pickleball page or on any park page, and it does not write the word free. What it does write is the access rule: first come, first served, with City programmes taking priority and some courts closed for class use.
Rockville sits in Montgomery County. Every venue in the county, including these, is listed on Montgomery County. There is no Maryland state page yet either. A state page needs at least three published cities before it is a document rather than a copy of this one, and Maryland has fewer than that today, so we have not written one.
No other city near Rockville has three venues yet, so there is nothing to send you across to. We would rather leave the space empty than link you to a page with nothing on it.
Every fact on this page comes from one of these, and each venue names the source behind each of its own fields: City of Rockville Recreation and Parks, checked 2026-09-07 · US Census Bureau, checked 2026-09-07. How we verify.
