Ashbury Park has four courts on its tennis courts, "using tennis nets" in the Park District's words, so there is a net there when you arrive, a tennis net at tennis height. The courts are unlit, so this is daylight play, with two games running at once at most. The park lists parking spaces, ponds, fishing and a multi-use trail along the shoreline.

The Park District says one thing about parking at each of these three parks, and it is a label. "Parking Spaces" appears in the amenity list of Nike Sports Complex, Ranchview Park and Ashbury Park alike, with no capacity, no fee and no word on when a lot fills.

Nike publishes a parking map as well, and a paved trail there runs north to south with "a connection to the pickleball courts". Restrooms are listed at Nike on a seasonal schedule the District asks you to check. Ranchview and Ashbury list none, which is a silence rather than a no.

When to turn up

The Park District publishes no hours, no price, no busy periods and no open-play schedule for any of these courts. What it does publish is lighting. Ranchview Park "has 6 unlit courts" and Ashbury Park "has 4 unlit courts", so thirteen of the twenty-five courts here are daylight courts by the operator's own word.

Nike Sports Complex is where the answer splits. The District writes that it "has 4 dedicated pickleball courts and there are 8 lit tennis courts lined for pickleball". The word "lit" attaches to the eight tennis courts and not to the four dedicated ones, so Nike's lighting is recorded here as unknown. Those eight lined courts are the District's stated option after dark. All twenty-five courts are outdoor, and the District points to the Fort Hill Activity Center for indoor play "during an open gym time".

What you will actually find

Ranchview Park is one of very few venues on this site with a stated surface, and the only one whose operator states why. The Park District writes that "The tennis/pickleball courts have a modular plastic tile system to ensure continuous operation and minimize maintenance", and explains that traditional coatings kept failing there because of moisture from the roof of the concrete reservoir below.

What the District distinguishes at every venue is the court itself. Nike has four "dedicated pickleball courts" and eight tennis courts "lined for pickleball"; Ranchview's nine are striping on tennis courts; Ashbury's four are on tennis courts "using tennis nets". Nothing is said about condition, cracks or resurfacing dates.

How many pickleball courts does Naperville have?

Twenty-five across three Naperville Park District parks: twelve at Nike Sports Complex, nine at Ranchview Park and four at Ashbury Park. The District's own total is larger.
