Outdoor Pickleball Courts in Boulder, CO

Why this matters here

Twenty of Boulder's twenty-nine courts are outdoors, at all five published venues, and the City states it plainly: the table that counts them sits under a heading that reads "Outdoor court layout and location", and the drop-in schedule says "outdoor courts" in words. Outdoor means something specific here. "Pickleball play is on tennis courts with pickleball lines", the City says, "Except for Foothills Community Park which is a designated inline hockey rink." Sixteen of the twenty are lines on tennis courts: four at North Boulder, eight at South Boulder, two at East Boulder and two at Chautauqua. The nets column of the table reads "Rolling" on every row, with the rule that "Pickleball nets should be rolled off tennis courts after completion of play and when not in use". The other four are on a rink, mornings only, bring your own net. The outdoor courts are where the free sentence lives, where the reservation system runs, and where the City's two scheduled sessions happen: daily mornings at South Boulder on six courts, and Tuesday and Thursday mornings plus Wednesday and Friday evenings at North Boulder on four. The City does not say whether any of them are lit, or what they are surfaced with.

Five qualify: South Boulder Recreation Center with eight, North Boulder Recreation Center with four, Foothills Community Park with four, East Boulder Community Center with two and Chautauqua Park with two. Foothills qualifies on four courts that are pickleball courts from 7 a.m. to noon; outside that window the rink "is designated as inline hockey court". The nine indoor courts at the three recreation centres do not qualify for this page; each centre carries a count on both sides of the line. Tom Watson Park is not here because its only figure, 4, is under "Additional Tennis Courts". East Boulder Community Park is not here because the City states no count for it at all.

Which outdoor courts in Boulder have lights?

The City does not say, for any venue. Its one sentence on the subject is "Lights are not guaranteed for use of courts after sunset", so every venue here is recorded as not stated and Boulder has no lights page.

Do I need to bring a net?
