About this place

One indoor pickleball court at the Town's Senior Center on Von Kolnitz Road, listed on the Town's pickleball page as "Mount Pleasant Senior Center 50+ / 1 Court". The "50+" is not part of the building's name. It is the condition of entry, and the Town spells it out beneath: "Drop-in play is for anyone 50 years and older and is free for members of the Senior Center."

Read moreShow less

The paragraph that follows is unusually complete for a single court. Non-members "may join in for a guest fee of $5 for Mt. Pleasant residents and $10 for those residing outside of Mt. Pleasant", and "Nets, balls, and paddles are provided". It is the one venue in Mount Pleasant where you can arrive with nothing in your hands. The Town gives a phone number for the centre, 843-856-2166.

Getting there

840 Von Kolnitz Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464, as the Town prints it. The US Census address geocoder matched the address at house-number level, placed it in Charleston County and in the incorporated place Mount Pleasant town, and the postcodes agree.

The Town publishes nothing about parking, transit or restrooms at the Senior Center, and nothing about the building's own opening hours. The times given here are pickleball sessions. Non-members should expect to pay the guest fee on arrival.

What to expect

A drop-in for players 50 and older, on one court, three afternoons a week: Tuesday and Thursday 3:00 to 4:50 pm and Friday 3:00 to 5:50 pm, with "101 Lessons with Al" on Fridays from 1:00 to 2:50 pm beforehand.

Equipment is the thing to notice. Everywhere else in Mount Pleasant the Town lends a net and asks you to bring paddles and balls. Here it provides all three.

With one court there is no rotation to speak of, and the Town says nothing about how many people come. Surface is not stated.

One indoor pickleball court at the Town's Senior Center on Von Kolnitz Road, and the one venue in Mount Pleasant with a condition on who may play: "Drop-in play is for anyone 50 years and older". The Town prices it exactly - free for Senior Center members, "a guest fee of $5 for Mt. Pleasant residents and $10 for those residing outside of Mt. Pleasant" for non-members - and supplies everything: "Nets, balls, and paddles are provided." Sessions run Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 4:50 pm and Friday from 3:00 to 5:50 pm, with a Friday lesson hour beforehand. One court is one game at a time. The Town states nothing about the surface, and lighting in a gym is not something it addresses.

Anyone 50 years and older, in the Town's words. It is the one Mount Pleasant venue with an age condition.

Is it free?

For members of the Senior Center, yes. Non-members pay a guest fee of $5 if they live in Mount Pleasant and $10 if they do not.

Do I need to bring anything?

No. "Nets, balls, and paddles are provided", which the Town states at no other Mount Pleasant venue.

Do you run Mount Pleasant Senior Center?

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
