One municipality in Charleston County is published here: Mount Pleasant, with four venues and nineteen courts checked against the Town of Mount Pleasant's own pickleball page. The City of Charleston was read and refused: its pickleball page names parks without stating a court count for any of them, and a venue with no stated count does not publish. North Charleston has not been read, and neither have Charleston County's own parks.
The Town's page prints a count, an address and a paragraph of rules under every entry: ten courts at Park West, four at The Deb Gym at Town Hall, four at Miriam Brown Community Center and one at the Mount Pleasant Senior Center. Every address matched at house-number level by the US Census geocoder to Charleston County and to the incorporated place Mount Pleasant town. Nothing in Mount Pleasant was refused.

What we cover in this county sits in one town, and the split that matters is indoor against outdoor. Eleven of the nineteen courts are in gymnasiums, six at Park West Gym, four at the Deb Gym at Town Hall and one at the Senior Center. They exist at scheduled session times, when the Town's nets go up on a floor it also uses for basketball, badminton and, at the Deb Gym each autumn, volleyball. Eight are outdoors: four on the Park West tennis courts and four at Miriam Brown Community Center.
Park West is the one site with courts on both sides of the line, ten at a single address, and it holds the county's only stated lighting, "4 Courts - Lighted", on the tennis courts. So of nineteen courts, four are lit, four outdoors carry no lighting answer, and eleven are indoors where the question does not arise.
The hours divide the same way. The gyms and the Senior Center run on weekday daytimes. The Park West tennis courts carry the Town's evening group, Monday to Wednesday, 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Miriam Brown carries the one daily session, mornings 7:00 to 11:00, and a printed afternoon ban. Nothing here is a destination complex, and the largest single count in the county is Park West's six-court gym.

The City of Charleston is the biggest gap, and it is not a silence: its pickleball page names parks. It does not say how many courts any of them has, and a name without a count is not enough for a venue page here. If the City adds a number under each park, that page can be read again. North Charleston has not been opened, and neither have the County's own parks.
Inside Mount Pleasant the gaps are all silences rather than refusals. The Town states no surface for any court. It states lighting for the Park West tennis courts and nothing about Miriam Brown's four outdoor courts, so those are recorded as not stated rather than assumed unlit. It states no parking, no restrooms and no building hours on its pickleball page (the times published here are pickleball sessions), and nothing about how busy any session gets. No club, private facility or residential community appears, because none of them publishes a source that could be read.

No honest page can tell you the county total. What has been checked is 19 courts across four venues, all in Mount Pleasant, each with a source and a date. The City of Charleston names pickleball parks without counting their courts, and North Charleston and the County's own parks have not been read.
Eighteen of the nineteen are, in the Town's words: "Drop-in play is free" under the two gyms, and "free and first come, first served" at Miriam Brown and on the Park West tennis courts. The Senior Center's one court is free for members and a $5 or $10 guest fee otherwise, for players 50 and older.
In Mount Pleasant, at three gyms: Park West Gym with six courts, The Deb Gym at Town Hall with four and the Senior Center with one, all at session times the Town prints. Between them that is eleven indoor courts, more than the county's outdoor eight.
We have not built the South Carolina state page yet. A state page needs at least three published cities before it is a document rather than a copy of the one city below it, and South Carolina has fewer than that today, so there is nothing honest to link up to. Everything above is checked against a named source; how we verify explains the ladder we work down and what we refuse to do.
