Outdoor Pickleball Courts in Lincoln, NE

Why this matters here

Every pickleball court in Lincoln is outdoor, so this page and the city page hold the same three venues. Twenty-two courts across Peterson (Erwin) Park, Ballard Park and Densmore Park, all open 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. What makes the list worth reading is a distinction the City draws and most operators do not: it sorts its parks into "Dedicated Pickleball Courts" and "Dual Striped", and it puts each one in a section. Sixteen of these twenty-two courts are dedicated: pickleball courts, not tennis courts with a second set of lines and a net two inches too high. That is one of the highest proportions of dedicated outdoor courts of any city on this site. The City also lists four indoor sites with no court count of any kind, and asks you to "Call the recreation center for court times and fees for use."

What puts a venue on this list

A venue appears here when the City of Lincoln states an outdoor court count for it on its Tennis and Pickleball page. Three qualify: ten at Peterson, six at Ballard, six at Densmore. Seven more parks are named on that same page under "Dual Striped" with no pickleball number of any kind: Cooper, Henry, Roberts, Roper (Max E.) East, Seng at University Place, Tyrrell and UPCO. And Eden Park, which has six dedicated courts and is the only Lincoln park whose own page lists Pickleball among its features, is absent for a different reason: neither address resolver can find "46 Antelope Creek Rd", and the City's own description places the park at an intersection instead.

Are these real pickleball courts?

Sixteen of the twenty-two are. The City lists Ballard's six and Peterson's ten under "Dedicated Pickleball Courts". At Densmore, two of the six are dedicated and four are a pair of dual-striped tennis courts.

Are any of them lit?

Not stated at any Lincoln venue. Densmore's page mentions MUSCO lights, but under a heading describing its four rentable baseball fields. A lit ballfield is not a lit court.

Why only three venues when the City names eleven parks?
