Peterson (Erwin) Park has ten courts dedicated to pickleball, the largest count in Lincoln and the only venue in the city the City counts twice: once on its pickleball page and once on the park's own page. Open 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. Ten dedicated courts is enough that a scheduled session and a casual game can happen at the same time.

Best if you are tired of tennis lines

Ballard Park's six courts are dedicated to pickleball: no tennis net at the wrong height, no second set of lines to read through. It is out by the Havelock neighbourhood in north-east Lincoln, open 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The one caveat is a documentation one: the park's own page never mentions pickleball, so the count rests on the City's pickleball page alone.

Best if you can take what you find

Densmore Park is six courts on the City's own arithmetic: "two dedicated pickleball courts; 2 dual striped (can be used as 4 pickleball courts)". So two are always pickleball and four depend on whether anyone is playing tennis. It is a 61-acre park with ballfields, a basketball court and trails, open 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Parking

Lincoln publishes nothing about parking at Ballard or Peterson. At Densmore it publishes "200 parking stalls", but in a paragraph about renting the park's four baseball fields, and it does not say whether that car park serves the pickleball courts. All three parks are suburban sites, so expect street parking; none of it is stated. What the City does publish, and most operators in this directory do not, is when the gates are open: 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., every day, at all three.

When to turn up

The courts have a schedule, and somebody else owns it. The City states that "Pickleball Lincoln, Inc. organizes and schedules pickleball programming at Peterson Park, Ballard Park, Eden Park, Henry Park, Roberts Park, Densmore Park, and Seng Park at University Place", and that during the times in that programming schedule the dual-use courts at those parks "are reserved for pickleball play". The public is welcome to join in.

At Ballard and Peterson every court is dedicated, so a reserved session decides who you are playing with, not whether you can play. At Densmore, where four of the six courts are tennis courts with pickleball lines, it decides whether those four are pickleball courts that afternoon at all.

What you will actually find

Not stated anywhere in Lincoln, which is the ordinary case: few cities in this directory publish a surface at all. What the City does state clearly is whether a court is a pickleball court or a tennis court with lines on it. Its page has a "Dedicated Pickleball Courts" section and a "Dual Striped" section. Sixteen of the twenty-two courts published here are dedicated. That is one of the highest proportions of dedicated outdoor courts in any city on this site, and it matters more than a surface note would: on a dedicated court the net is at pickleball height and the only lines are yours.

Getting into a game

Twenty-two courts across three parks, sixteen of them dedicated to pickleball. Peterson Park alone has ten. Seven further parks have dual-striped courts the City never counts, so the real number is higher than twenty-two. What stands out is who runs play: Pickleball Lincoln, Inc. schedules programming across seven City parks, and the City publishes that arrangement on its own page. No other operator in this directory hands its courts to a named organisation and says so.

Are these real pickleball courts or tennis courts with lines?

Both. Ballard, Eden and Peterson sit under "Dedicated Pickleball Courts"; the "Dual Striped" section lists courts shared with tennis. Sixteen of the 22 courts published here are dedicated, one of the highest proportions of any city on this site.

What are the opening hours?

5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week, at all three parks, from the Hours block on each park's own page. Lincoln is one of the operators in this directory that publishes park hours at all, and one of the few where every published venue has the same ones.

Who runs play on these courts?

The City says Pickleball Lincoln, Inc. organises and schedules pickleball programming at seven of its parks, including all three published here, and that the public is welcome to participate. That is an unusual arrangement to find written down, and it is the closest thing to a peak-times answer any city in this directory publishes.

Are the courts free? Are they lit?

Neither is stated. The City says nothing about the cost of an outdoor court in Lincoln. On lighting, Densmore Park's page says "Lights: MUSCO (2000). Tournament quality", but under a heading describing the four baseball fields the City rents out. Lighting on a ballfield is not lighting on a pickleball court.

Why isn't Eden Park listed?

Its address does not resolve. Eden has six dedicated courts and is the one park whose own page lists Pickleball among its features. But the address the City prints for it, "46 Antelope Creek Rd", is found by neither the US Census address file nor OpenStreetMap, and the City's own description places the park "near 46th and Antelope Creek Road", an intersection rather than a house number.
