About this place
Ten courts dedicated to pickleball, the largest count in Lincoln, one of the larger dedicated sets anywhere in this directory, and the only venue in the city that two separate City pages agree about. The Tennis and Pickleball page lists Peterson (Erwin) Park under "Dedicated Pickleball Courts" with "Includes ten courts dedicated to pickleball play." The park's own page in Parks A to Z describes a community park that "includes ten pickleball courts, an open shelter, and playground area", and lists Pickleball among its Features.

The park is 35.28 acres near South 27th Street and Highway 2. Besides the courts there are rentable ballfields, an open shelter, a playground, and the Stransky Dog Run, 2.5 acres of off-leash space for large dogs and one acre for small ones, on the west side of Southwood Drive.
Getting there
4400 Southwood Drive, Lincoln, NE 68512, matched by the Census address geocoder to Lincoln city, Lancaster County. Both City pages print the same address.
The City publishes no parking guidance for the courts. It describes "Ample Parking" and an "ADA Accessible and Handicap concrete parking space" for the Stransky Dog Run, a separate part of the park. That is the dog run's car park, not a statement about the courts, so parking here reads not stated.
What to expect
The best odds in Lincoln of getting on a court: ten courts, dedicated to pickleball, confirmed by two City pages rather than one. Open 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Pickleball Lincoln, Inc. organises and schedules programming here, and the City says the public is welcome to participate. The reservation the City describes applies to dual-use courts, and every court here is dedicated, so it does not take pickleball away from this park at any hour.
Nothing is published about lighting, surface, nets or cost. The 11:00 p.m. closing time is a gate hour, not a promise of light.

Questions about Peterson (Erwin) Park
Is this the biggest in Lincoln?
Yes, by some way. Ballard and Densmore have six each, and Densmore's six includes four that are shared with tennis. Peterson's ten are dedicated.
Are the courts lit?
Not stated. No Lincoln venue publishes a lighting answer. The park closes at 11:00 p.m., which tells you when the gate shuts and nothing about whether you can see the ball.
Do I need to book?
No booking system is published for the courts. The City does state that Pickleball Lincoln, Inc. runs scheduled programming here and that the public is welcome to join it.
Do you run Peterson (Erwin) Park?
What claiming does and does not doShow less
You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.
It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.
Something wrong here?
If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
