About this place

The Town of Cary points to Ed Yerha Park first. Its page opens by saying the park "features Cary's outdoor Pickleball courts, where everyone is welcome and encouraged to play". There are three of them, stated plainly in the features list as "Three pickleball courts", alongside one basketball slab and one open play field.

For a player this is a small, straightforward, purpose-signposted venue rather than a large one: three courts, restrooms and a picnic shelter, at the park the town describes as the home of its outdoor pickleball. It was formerly White Oak Park.

Getting there

1216 Jenks Carpenter Road. The town publishes no parking information for this park at all, not a lot, not a capacity, not a restriction, so all anyone can tell you is that the page does not say. Restrooms are on site and the town's status board lists them as open. There is a picnic shelter, available by reservation, and a playground.

What to expect

Three courts on a first-come, first-served basis. The town's own status board for the park reads "Pickleball Courts Open - First Come, First Served", and there is no reservation system for them.

Come in daylight. The park's hours are published as "Sunrise to Sunset" flatly, with none of the extended-activity clause that Carpenter Park and the McCrimmon Parkway park carry, and nothing on the page states that these courts are lit, so lighting is recorded as not stated. The basketball slab is listed separately from the pickleball courts, which suggests the two are not sharing a surface here, though the town does not say so outright. No surface, no nets and no fee are published for this venue.

Thanks. Your review is in the queue: a person reads every one before it appears here, so it will not show up straight away.

That review did not go through. It needs a star rating, a name and at least twenty characters of text.

Questions about Ed Yerha Park

Is this the same as White Oak Park?

Yes. Ed Yerha Park is the former White Oak Park, renamed for Ed Yerha, a councilmember who served from 2012 to 2022 and volunteered for Cary for more than two decades. The town's own page explains the change, and its open data still carries the old name on the same map point, which is how the two records were matched to one place.

Do you run Ed Yerha Park?

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
