The City splits this facility's amenities into Indoor and Outdoor, and the pickleball line sits under "Outdoor Amenities:", alongside a football field, a flag football field, a soccer field, a playground, a picnic area, two baseball fields and three Kato/Sepak Takraw courts. Kato, or Sepak Takraw, is a kick-volleyball game played widely in the Hmong community, and Saint Paul is one of very few American cities whose parks department builds courts for it. A recreation centre with staff, a building and several fields is a different proposition from a bare neighbourhood park, even when the court count is identical.
