About this place

Twelve outdoor pickleball courts, the largest published set in Tallahassee, in two kinds the City counts on one line: "4 pickleball courts | 8 pickleball courts on multi-purpose courts (tennis courts 1-4)". Four stand alone as pickleball courts. Eight are lined onto tennis courts 1 to 4.

Read moreShow less

The City adds a sentence about who gets which: "City of Tallahassee pickleball professionals have priority to use courts 1A/1B for teaching purposes during non-monitored hours. Open Play schedule includes combo courts 4A-4B and the four standalone pickleball courts." On that numbering an Open Play session is six courts, the four standalone plus the pair on tennis court 4, rather than all twelve.

Getting there

501 Easterwood Avenue, Tallahassee, FL 32311, as the City writes it. The US Census address geocoder answered "501 EASTERWOOD DR, TALLAHASSEE, FL, 32311", the same number and the same postcode with the street type changed from Avenue to Drive, and OpenStreetMap holds no record of the address as the City writes it. There is one street here under one name, in Leon County inside Tallahassee city. The City prints no postcode; the 32311 is the resolver's.

The City publishes nothing about parking at the park.

What to expect

The fullest timetable in Tallahassee. Open Play, free and drop-in, runs Monday and Wednesday 8:00am-12:00pm and Sunday 8:00am-12:00pm and 5:00pm-8:30pm. Reserved Play, booked and paid at $3.50 to $5.75 a session, fills Monday to Thursday 5:30pm-8:30pm and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 8:30am-1:00pm. Friday is first come, first play only, and so is every hour not on the grid, with a 90 minute limit when others are waiting.

So: turn up on a Monday, Wednesday or Sunday morning and a rotation under the City's "RACK" rules will be there. Book and pay for a weekday evening. Bring your own game on a Friday. Whether the evening sessions are lit is not stated, and lighting is not inferred here from an 8:30pm finish. Surface is not stated. Two courts, 1A and 1B, belong to the City's coaches when nobody is monitoring.

Do you run Tom Brown Park?

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
