Pickleball Courts in Lee County, FL

One city in Lee County is published here: Cape Coral, with five venues and twenty courts checked against the City's own pages. Lee County also contains Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Estero, Lehigh Acres, Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach, and not one of those has been checked against a named source, so none appears anywhere on this site.

What this page reports is five parks whose court counts, addresses, prices and lighting the City of Cape Coral publishes.

Three venues inside Cape Coral itself are named on the city page but not published here, and between them they are worth more courts than the twenty listed. The Courts holds thirty-two dedicated pickleball courts, the largest count this project has read anywhere in the country, and the City publishes no address for it. Gator Trails Park has two lighted dedicated courts at an address neither of this site's resolvers can find. Four Freedoms Park has the county's only municipally named indoor pickleball and no court count. Each is one missing fact away from being here.

What we cover sits in one city and, within it, spread evenly across five neighbourhood and community parks rather than gathered into a complex. Jim Jeffers Park is the largest with six courts on an 18.7-acre site in north-west Cape Coral. Camelot, Joe Stonis and Sands hold four each. Giuffrida holds two.

The useful pattern is the split between dedicated and convertible courts. Six of the twenty, Giuffrida's two and Sands's four, are dedicated pickleball courts in the City's own words. The other fourteen sit on tennis slabs the City writes as "Two (2) tennis courts -OR- Four (4) pickleball courts", which means what you find on arrival depends on the configuration and on who got there first.

Lighting splits the same set a different way. Fourteen courts across three venues are lit and open until 9:00 p.m., two are stated unlit, and four carry no lighting answer at all. In a county where the summer middle of the day is unusable outdoors, that fourteen is the number that decides how much of this inventory is really available to someone with a job.

This is a Cape Coral page under the heading of a county of eight hundred thousand people, and the gap will not close by accident. Fort Myers is the obvious next city and it has not been read. Neither have Bonita Springs, Estero or Lehigh Acres.

What this county does supply is an unusually clear example of the difference between a court existing and a court being publishable. The same City, in the same document, publishes five venues completely enough to be listed and three that are not. The missing facts are all boring ones: an address, a resolvable address, a number. None of them is about the courts being real, and every one of those three is a place people are certainly playing today.

Nothing outside a municipal parks department appears on this page at all. Lee County is retirement and resort country, and clubs, HOAs, gated communities and commercial venues almost certainly hold more pickleball courts here than the City does. None of them publishes a source that has been read, so none is listed.
