Read moreShow less

The City writes this venue as a configuration rather than an inventory: "Two (2) tennis courts -OR- Four (4) pickleball courts". One pair of tennis slabs, set up either way. The park's own page describes the same ground from the tennis end, as "Two (lighted) Tennis Courts that include court lines for Pickleball".

The City calls the park "nestled in a beautiful single family area". It has a circular three-tenths-of-a-mile paved walking path around the perimeter, picnic pavilions with BBQ grills, a playground for ages 2 to 12, and restrooms.

Getting there

1718 SW 52 Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33914, in Lee County.

The street type matters here. The US Census geocoder answers this address with "1718 SW 52ND ST": right county, right postcode, wrong street. Cape Coral's grid carries a Street, a Terrace, a Lane and a Court at the same number, and SW 52nd Terrace and SW 52nd Street are about seventy-seven metres apart. OpenStreetMap finds the address as the City writes it, and that is what is published here.

The City publishes nothing about parking. There are restrooms.

What to expect

Four courts if the slabs are set up for pickleball, two tennis courts if they are not. The City publishes the configuration as an either/or rather than a schedule, so there is no way to know before you arrive.

Play is free: the City states that its park tennis and pickleball courts are "available for public use at no charge". The courts are lit and stay open until 9:00 p.m. every day.

The City says nothing about the surface, nothing about parking, and nothing about when the courts are busy. It also never describes these courts as indoor or outdoor, so this site does not either, though a park with a perimeter walking path and BBQ grills leaves little doubt.

Court availability
Four pickleball courts with lights, open until 9:00 p.m. daily, and free - the City says so for all of its park courts in one sentence. The "-OR-" in the City's own line is worth reading rather than skipping: "Two (2) tennis courts -OR- Four (4) pickleball courts with lights". This is one pair of tennis slabs that becomes four pickleball courts, not four courts standing alongside two. The park's own page describes the same thing from the other direction - "Two (lighted) Tennis Courts that include court lines for Pickleball" - so what you find on arrival depends on how the courts are set up and who got there first. Camelot is a 6.4 acre neighbourhood park with a paved perimeter walking path, picnic pavilions, horseshoe pits and a playground.

Questions about Camelot Park

How many courts are there?

Four pickleball courts, on two convertible tennis slabs. The City writes it as "Two (2) tennis courts -OR- Four (4) pickleball courts with lights".

Why does a map search show a different street?

The City's address is 1718 SW 52 Terrace. The Census geocoder answers that with SW 52nd Street, a different street about seventy-seven metres away. This site publishes the Terrace, as the City writes it.

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
