About this place

Clarks Creek Park has eight pickleball courts, the most of any park we list in Charlotte, on Hucks Road in the north of the city. Mecklenburg County never says "eight". It lists "Clarks Creek Park: Courts 1-5" as reservable and "Clarks Creek Park: Courts 6-8" as open play, which together name courts one to eight with nothing missing and nothing counted twice.

The City of Charlotte parks layer holds three records with Clarks Creek in the title: this park at 5435 Hucks Road, Clarks Creek Nature Preserve across the road at 5434, and Clarks Creek Greenway Park on Mallard Creek Road. Only this one has pickleball.

Getting there

5435 Hucks Rd, Charlotte, NC 28269, in the north of the city. The county publishes no parking information for this park: no lot, no capacity, no restriction. It does warn that its neighbourhood parks "do not typically have parking or restroom features", but Clarks Creek is classified as a Community park, so that warning most likely does not apply. Nothing is recorded either way about parking or restrooms here.

What to expect

Eight courts, five bookable and three always open. The county says any court not on its reservable list is "non-reservable and open to the public on a first come, first serve basis", so courts 6, 7 and 8 cannot be taken from you by a booking. It publishes nothing about the courts themselves: no lighting, no surface material, no statement about nets, and no price for the reservations it charges for. All of those read "Not stated" on this page. Charlotte is one of the cities in this directory where the operator publishes no lighting data at all, and at an eight-court site that is the gap you will feel most.

Thanks. Your review is in the queue: a person reads every one before it appears here, so it will not show up straight away.

That review did not go through. It needs a star rating, a name and at least twenty characters of text.

Questions about Clarks Creek Park

How many pickleball courts does Clarks Creek Park have?

Eight. Mecklenburg County names them individually rather than giving a total: courts 1 to 5 are reservable and courts 6 to 8 are open play, a complete run from 1 to 8 with no gaps and no court listed twice.

Can I play here without booking?

Yes, on three of the eight. Courts 6, 7 and 8 are permanently open play and cannot be reserved. That is the largest guaranteed walk-up allocation at any Charlotte park in this set.

Do you run Clarks Creek Park?

What claiming does and does not doShow less

You can claim this listing and correct anything on it. To be clear about what claiming does and does not do: it gives you control of your own facts and a channel to reach us, and it is shown on the page as confirmed by the venue with the date you confirmed it.

It does not mark the listing verified, because a claim tells us who you are rather than checking what is here, and those are different things. It also buys no ranking, no sorting and no placement advantage over an unclaimed venue. The moment claiming bought position this would be an advertising product rather than a directory, and the whole promise would be gone.

Something wrong here?

If you play here and this is out of date, tell us. Corrections come with a source and a date attached, the same as everything else, and a correction that changes a court count gets checked against the city record before it goes live.
