Pickleball Courts in Tampa, FL

The City of Tampa publishes nothing about parking at any of the sixteen venues on this page. The word does not appear on the pickleball page, and the recreation-centres page gives each centre a phone number and a "Features:" line without mentioning a lot. Restrooms are not mentioned either.

Twelve of the sixteen venues are parks or a pavilion listed under "Outdoor Pickleball". The other four are community centres whose courts are indoors and open only at the session times the City prints, so at Barksdale, Cordelia B Hunt, Loretta Ingraham and Port Tampa the phone number matters more than the lot.

Tampa states hours for two of its twelve outdoor venues and for the pavilion. Madison Street Park and Vila Brothers Park are "Open daily from sunrise to sunset". The New Tampa Sports Pavilion prints "Monday-Friday, 4:30-9 pm / Saturday-Sunday, 8 am-9 pm", the only outdoor hours in the city that run to a clock time. Cuscaden Park carries the one scheduled outdoor session the City publishes, "Senior open play Wed 9-11 am". Al Barnes, Copeland, Davis Islands, Forest Hills, Highland Pines, Julian B Lane, Macfarlane and Skyview have no stated hours.

Indoors, every venue comes with a session schedule. Barksdale runs Monday 1-3 pm with free beginner lessons, then 3-5:30 pm, and Tuesday to Friday 2-5:30 pm. Forest Hills runs Monday 10 am-12:30 pm, Wednesday 10 am-1 pm and Friday 6-7:30 pm. Loretta Ingraham runs Monday and Friday 6:30-8:30 pm until summer camp begins, then Mondays only from June 2. Cordelia B Hunt runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings in two versions split at June 1. Port Tampa runs Tuesday and Thursday 6-9 pm. None of those dates carries a year, so ring the centre first.

The City names no surface for any pickleball court in Tampa. No card says asphalt, concrete, acrylic or cushioned, and the recreation-centres page does not describe floors.

What every card does distinguish is indoor from outdoor. Two outdoor cards also say something about what is underfoot. Davis Islands has "2 multi-purpose courts", so the court may be lined or set up for something else when you arrive. Julian B Lane Riverfront Park has "2 permanent courts" and "4 portable net courts". Every other outdoor card just says courts, and this site does not read dedicated into that. Port Tampa's court was, on the City's page, "closed for repairs through June 1", the only statement about a court's condition anywhere in the city.

Fifty-two courts across sixteen venues, forty-five outdoors and seven inside community-centre buildings, all counted on a single City page dated 28 October 2025. Macfarlane Park's eight is the largest published set; Cuscaden Park and Julian B Lane Riverfront Park hold six each; five venues hold four; the rest hold one or two. Tampa is the second Florida city on this site after Cape Coral and the first in Hillsborough County. It also has more published indoor venues than any city here except Wichita, which is why Tampa has an indoor page.

Three venues the City lists are not published. Rowlett Park has "8 courts" at "2401 E Yukon St.", an address neither the Census address file nor OpenStreetMap can find. Foster Park has two courts at "4700 S Clark Ave., 33611", which the Census geocoder answers as North Clark Avenue in 33614. The Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Complex has two indoor courts and two City house numbers, 220 and 2200 N Oregon Ave, and the count-bearing one resolves to 33606 while the City prints 33607.
