Indoor Pickleball Courts in Tampa, FL - 5 Venues

Why this matters here

Five Tampa venues hold indoor pickleball courts, seven courts between them, and the City puts every one of them under a heading that reads "Indoor Pickleball". Tampa has more published indoor venues than most cities on this site, though Denver, with twenty-one, and Wichita, with nine, both have more, and its indoor page is one of only a few on the site. None of the five is an indoor pickleball facility. Four are community centres (Barksdale, Cordelia B Hunt, Loretta Ingraham and Port Tampa) and the fifth, Forest Hills, is a community centre sharing its address with a park holding two outdoor courts. In each, the courts exist at the session times the City prints and, so far as the record shows, not otherwise. Two cards say "Play resumes after Summer Camp ends", one says "Court closed for repairs through June 1", and none of the dates carries a year on a page dated 28 October 2025. An indoor venue here is a place to play in a known window, with a phone number to confirm it, rather than a place to turn up.

What puts a venue on this list

A venue appears here when the City's pickleball page lists it under the heading "Indoor Pickleball" with a court count. Five qualify: Forest Hills with two, Loretta Ingraham Center with two, and David M Barksdale Center, Cordelia B Hunt Center and Port Tampa Community Center with one each, seven indoor courts in all. Port Tampa qualifies although its card says the court was "closed for repairs through June 1": the count is stated, and the closure is printed beside it as the City printed it. The Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Complex is on the City's indoor list with two courts and a schedule the City marks as not yet set. It is refused because the City prints two house numbers for it (220 N Oregon Ave on the pickleball page, 2200 on the recreation-centres page) and the one carrying the count resolves to a postcode the City's own pages contradict. The Copeland Park Center has a gymnasium on the recreation-centres list and no indoor pickleball on the City's page, so Copeland is an outdoor venue only, as is Highland Pines. A gym is not an indoor court until the operator counts one there.

When can I play indoors in Tampa?
