Where to play, depending on what you want

Best if you want the most courts

Black Mountain Recreation Center has 18 outdoor pickleball courts, the largest count in Henderson and the one row on the City's "OUTDOOR PICKLEBALL COURTS" table above four. The park directory lists the same address as "Black Mountain Pickleball Park" with parking, restrooms, a picnic ramada and a playground. Eighteen is a rotation at any hour. Hours, lighting and price are not stated.

Best if you want a roof

Silver Springs Recreation Center has four courts, three of them under the City's "INDOOR PICKLEBALL COURTS" heading and the fourth under a heading that says only "PICKLEBALL COURTS". They are the only indoor courts published in Henderson. The centre's facility page describes 36,000 square feet with a gymnasium, a seasonal pool and tennis courts. Hours and price are not stated.

Best if you want a third court on a shared park

Mission Hills Park has three courts under "PICKLEBALL & TENNIS COMBINED", the largest count among Henderson's five shared parks, where the others have two. The directory lists both "Pickleball" and "Tennis Courts" among its amenities, with restrooms, a splash pad, barbecues and a walking course. Three shared courts is a game and a half when the tennis players are elsewhere.

Parking

The City of Henderson's park directory lists "Parking" as an amenity at exactly one of the seven published venues: the entry it calls "Black Mountain Pickleball Park", at 599 Greenway Rd., whose amenity list reads "Parking, Pickleball, Picnic Ramada, Picnic Tables, Playground, Restrooms". That is the whole of it.

The other six carry no parking line. They are recorded as not stated rather than as no parking, because the directory's amenity lists are plainly selective: Aventura's and Sunridge's do not mention pickleball at all, though the City counts two courts at each. Restrooms are better covered. All six park-directory entries list "Restrooms"; the facility page for Silver Springs Recreation Center does not, and they are left unknown there.

When to turn up

Henderson publishes no hours for any pickleball court and no park hours for any of the seven venues. The pickleball page carries no clock, the directory's entries are an address and an amenity list, and the two facility pages give a phone number and a description without an opening time. Lighting is unknown with it: the word does not appear on any of the three pages read, so none of the 33 courts is recorded as lit or unlit.

What the City does publish about timing is a reservation route. Courts "can be reserved for a friendly game of pickleball, a tournament or event by calling the Sports Office at 702-267-5717". The page does not say which facilities can be reserved, whether a reservation costs anything, or what happens to walk-up players when a court is booked, so play format is recorded as not stated.

What you will actually find

The City of Henderson names no surface for any pickleball court. Nothing on the pickleball page, the park directory or the two facility pages says what any of the 33 courts is made of, so surface reads as not stated at all seven venues.

What the City does state is which side of a roof 21 of the 33 are on. It sorts facilities under headings that use the words: "OUTDOOR PICKLEBALL COURTS", where Black Mountain Recreation Center's 18 sit, and "INDOOR PICKLEBALL COURTS", where three of Silver Springs Recreation Center's four sit. The other twelve stay unsided. Eleven are under "PICKLEBALL & TENNIS COMBINED", a heading that says the courts are shared with tennis and nothing about a roof, and the twelfth is Silver Springs' one court under a heading that reads only "PICKLEBALL COURTS". Nets are not mentioned anywhere.

Getting into a game

Thirty-three courts at seven City venues: 18 outdoor at Black Mountain Recreation Center, four at Silver Springs Recreation Center of which three are indoor, three shared with tennis at Mission Hills Park, and two shared with tennis at each of Aventura Park, Siena Heights Trailhead, Sonata Park and Sunridge Park. Henderson is the second Nevada city published here, after Las Vegas, and the second in Clark County.

The City counts more than this page shows. Its pickleball page counts 50 courts at thirteen facilities, and 17 of them are at six facilities whose City addresses resolve nowhere: Blooming Cactus Park, Dundee Jones Park, Montagna Park, Whitney Mesa, Weston Hills Park and the Downtown Recreation Center. A seventh, Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, is refused because the City lists it under "INDOOR PICKLEWALL COURTS", and a pickle wall is a practice wall rather than a court.

The City states no price anywhere and never writes the word "free".

What we don’t know yet

Anything an operator does not publish shows as “Not stated” rather than being guessed at, most often surface, fees and opening hours. Many of these courts are very probably free to play, but a belief is not a source, so we do not print it as one.

Questions people actually ask

How many pickleball courts does Henderson have?

Thirty-three across seven City venues: 18 at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 4 at Silver Springs Recreation Center, 3 at Mission Hills Park and 2 each at Aventura, Siena Heights Trailhead, Sonata and Sunridge. The City's own page counts 50 at thirteen facilities; the other 17 are at six addresses neither resolver can find.

Which Henderson courts have lights?

None that the City states. Lighting does not appear on the pickleball page, in the park directory or on either facility page, and the City publishes no hours for any court either. Daylight is the safe plan until the City says otherwise.

Are Henderson's courts free, and can they be reserved?

Free is not stated; the City writes no price anywhere and never uses the word. It does say courts "can be reserved for a friendly game of pickleball, a tournament or event by calling the Sports Office at 702-267-5717", with forms at 298 N. Arroyo Grande Blvd. or by email.

Wider area

Henderson sits in Clark County. Every venue in the county, including these, is listed on Clark County. There is no Nevada state page yet either. A state page needs at least three published cities before it is a document rather than a copy of this one, and Nevada has fewer than that today, so we have not written one.
