Outdoor Pickleball Courts in Scottsdale, AZ

Why this matters here

Every pickleball court in Scottsdale is outdoor, so this page and the city page hold the same four venues. Twenty-nine courts across Ashler Hills Park, Cholla Park, Horizon Park and Thompson Peak Park, every one of them lit. In the Phoenix valley the outdoor question is really a timing question, which is why the fact that all four venues run from sunrise to 10:30 p.m. under lights matters more than the count does. The City runs a free public drop-in programme on six more lighted outdoor courts at Scottsdale Community College; those are not here because the Census places them outside the city limits. This page grew on 4 September 2026. Scottsdale published five locations; this site could originally put a source to only three of them, because a venue must have an address that resolves before it may be published, and the address the City prints for Ashler Hills Park is not in the US Census address file. That day a second resolver was added, OpenStreetMap, consulted only where the Census has nothing, and Ashler Hills' eight lighted courts became publishable.

What puts a venue on this list

A venue appears here when the City of Scottsdale states an outdoor court count for it on its pickleball page. Four qualify: ten courts at Horizon, eight each at Cholla and Ashler Hills, three at Thompson Peak. Scottsdale Community College has six lighted courts, and the geocoder places its address in no incorporated place at all, so it is not a Scottsdale venue by the test this directory uses.

Is every Scottsdale court really lit?

Every published one, yes. All four carry "lighted" in the City's own court count, and all four are open sunrise to 10:30 p.m. daily. Scottsdale is one of the few cities in this directory where the lighting question is answered at every single published venue.

Are they all free?

Three of the four say so: "They are free to use" appears on the Cholla, Horizon and Thompson Peak park pages. Ashler Hills Park's page lists the courts among the park's features without mentioning cost, so its cost reads "not stated": not a suspected charge, just an unanswered question.

Is one of these closed?

Thompson Peak Park was, when this was last checked. The City closed its three courts from 17 August to 11 September 2026 for resurfacing, with a reopening expected on 12 September, weather permitting. The other three were unaffected.

Where are the four venues?

Spread across the north and east of the city: Horizon Park at 15444 N. 100th St. in the north-east with ten courts, Cholla Park at 11320 E. Via Linda in the east with eight, Ashler Hills Park at 32220 N. 74th Way at the far northern edge with eight, and Thompson Peak Park at 20199 N. 78th Pl. with three. The City publishes no parking guidance for any of them.
