Pickleball Courts in Albuquerque, NM

The City of Albuquerque publishes nothing about parking at any of the thirteen venues. The word does not appear on the pickleball page at all. Restrooms are not mentioned either, at any venue.

What the City does publish that shapes a trip is the address. It writes almost all of them without a street type, such as "501 Elizabeth SE" and "7511 Burke NE", and the US Census address file supplied one for each: Elizabeth Street, Cherokee Road, Burke Street. All thirteen matched at house-number level, with the compass quadrant carried through unchanged.

The City states hours for two published venues and a rule for all of them. The hours line reads "Manzano Mesa, Villella, and Pat Hurley are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily", and Pat Hurley is not published here, so it covers Manzano Mesa Pickleball Complex and Villela Pickleball Courts. The other eleven venues have no stated hours at all.

The rule sits under "Availability & Reservations": "Courts are typically available on a first come, first serve basis and play is limited to 1.5 hours when others are waiting." Sierra Vista Tennis Complex is the one venue whose courts the City says can be booked, "in advanced by calling 505-767-5445". Whole complexes can be reserved for tournaments through the City's Sports Office. The City does not publish when any venue is busy.

The City names no surface for any pickleball court in Albuquerque. No cell of the table says asphalt, concrete or acrylic, and nothing says indoor or outdoor about any venue.

What the City does state, in the description cell of every row but one, is what kind of court is being counted. Two venues are a "Pickleball Complex", Manzano Mesa with thirty-three courts and Villela with six, and the prose calls them the City's "two dedicated pickleball complexes". Nine venues are "Tennis Courts with Pickleball Lines", and the count in those cells is of pickleball courts marked out, not of tennis courts. Sierra Vista is "Tennis/Pickleball Courts" with "2 Courts and 4 Lined Courts". Wells Park's cell says "3 Pickleball Courts" and nothing about their kind, so that one is recorded as unstated. Nets are not mentioned on the visible page.

Eighty-six courts across thirteen City venues, thirty-nine of them at the two dedicated complexes and the rest across eleven parks. Albuquerque is the first New Mexico city on this site and the first in Bernalillo County. Manzano Mesa Pickleball Complex's thirty-three courts is the largest single-venue count on this site. Eighty-six is no longer the second-largest court total on the site: Charlotte leads now with one hundred and twenty-three, ahead of Denver, Seattle, Dallas and Austin too.

The City's page names a City Pickleball Manager, 505-224-6693, runs junior and adult lessons at Manzano Mesa with classes "limited to six participants", and describes the ABQ Pickleball Club as a body that "provides tournaments, training, playing opportunities, and conducts pickleball open houses". None of that is a schedule of open play; no open-play time is published for any venue.

Three venues the City lists are not published, and they are named here rather than dropped: Pat Hurley Park, Alamosa Park and Ventana Ranch Park. Neither the US Census address file nor OpenStreetMap finds the address the City writes for any of the three. That costs twenty-eight courts, twenty of them lit.
